Professional Technical Advisory Committees
What are Professional Technical Advisory Committees? The main purpose of an advisory committee is to help schools and institutions maintain and improve the quality of instruction in Professional Technical Education (PTE) programs. An advisory committee serves a vital role in keeping professional technical programs relevant, dynamic, and on the cutting edge of technology.
These committees are selected by local schools and are drawn primarily from the private sector with appropriate public sector representation. Members are volunteers who provide input and make recommendations to high school staff and administration on changes in direction and technology for PTE programs. The committee provides valuable knowledge, experience, and skills from the private sector to enhance the quality of high school programs.
