Welcome to College Credit Now at Chemeketa!

Signing up for a CCN course is a three step process.  All College Credit Now students must complete these steps, even if a student has already completed a CCN course or a Chemeketa course.

  • Step 1 - Admission: All students must be admitted through our on-line CCN admission application. A Placement Test is required for specific courses – please check with your instructor.
  • Step 2 - Registration: Students must register for the appropriate CCN course through "My Chemeketa" (instructions below).
  • Step 3 - Payment: CCN courses cost $30 per student per course.

Step 1 - Admission:

All students must complete an on-line admission application. Even if a student has previously registered or attended Chemeketa, they still need to complete the admission process through the on-line system so that they are coded with an appropriate program code that will allow them to register for a CCN course.  Using your social security number may make it easier to retrieve information from my.chemeketa.edu if you lose your username or password.

Once the application has been processed (usually within 2 – 3 business days at the most) students that have never taken a Chemeketa class will be emailed their user name and password to use when logging into the Chemeketa registration system (my.chemeketa.edu) and also to allow the student to complete a placement test if necessary. IT IS IMPORTANT TO SAVE THIS USERNAME AND PASSWORD. If you have taken a Chemeketa course you previously would have received an email with your user name and password. If the CCN course the student is taking requires a placement test, you must complete the on-line CCN admission form BEFORE taking the placement test.

Placement Test (only required for specific courses):

ATTENTION COLLEGE WRITING APPLICANTS:

In order to register for College Credit Now Writing 121, you will need to go to a Chemeketa campus to take the COMPASS assessment.  In order to do that, you will need a K number (i.e.-Student ID Number) and photo ID. You may already have one if you’ve earned credits from Chemeketa before.

IF YOU DO NOT HAVE YOUR K# AND PHOTO ID, YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO TEST!

To get a K number in person (Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) :

  • Click here to print the Admission Application (PDF document)
  • Complete the Admission Application
  • Go to Bldg 2 Enrollment Center and identify yourself as a College Credit Now student and they will issue you a K#.

To get a K number by fax:

  • Complete the College Credit Now Admissions Form available from your teacher or click here to print the Admission Application (PDF document)
  • Fill out form and fax it to MWEC at 503-399-6979 (NOT the number listed on the application).
  • MWEC staff will get the application processed for you. Please allow 5 business days for processing and then call MWEC at 503-399-5239 to get your K#.

To get a K number online (you need to do this at least a week prior to taking the assessment, and you must provide your social security number in order to log in and retrieve your K#):

  • Go to http://www.mwec.org/students/CCNWebReg.php
  • Scroll down and click on the words “Click here for on-line admission to CCN”
  • Complete the online application, a K# will be assigned within 48 hours
  • After 48 hours, go to www.chemeketa.edu, click on the Quick Links drop-down arrow in the top right corner of the website, and choose My Chemeketa.
  • Click the link below “How do I get a user name and password?”
  • Fill in the requested information and click Get Login Information.
  • You will see your My Chemeketa ID and Password so that you can login.
  • Once you login, you can go down to the My Chemeketa Shortcuts on the left side of the page and choose Student ID Number—this is your K#!

You can then "drop-in" to the testing annex anytime it is open (see the hours listed below).  You just need to take the writing placement test, although you are encouraged to take the Reading and Math test at the same time for no charge.  The test is free.

Once the student has registered for a class, he/she may review their account summary in My Chemeketa by selecting the “Account Summary by Term” link at the bottom of the screen.  The student can then select the “Credit Card Payment” link at the bottom of the screen or the “Pay Now” link on the top of the screen to process a credit card payment. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express credit cards.

The student may also mail in a check (Please write the student K#, name and CRN # on the check) to the following address:

Salem, OR 97309-7070

Another option for payment is to go to any of our area campuses and pay the account with cash, check or credit card.

In some cases, the high school handles payment for courses through a scholarship program.  If this is the case, be sure to confirm with your CCN instructor.  Class fees are your responsibility.

Frequently Asked Questions:

How do I get a user name and password?

If the student gave their SSN when completing the on-line application, the student can check on-line for their user name and password through the http://my.chemeketa.edu site by selecting the “How do I get a user name and password?” box on the web page. This only works if the student entered their SSN when completing the application.

If a student needs their user name and password and they do not know their Chemeketa K number and their SSN is not on file, please call 503.399.5239. The student can bring photo ID to building 22 Information Technology Help Desk at the Chemeketa main campus or they can stop by Enrollment Services located upstairs in Building 2 first to get their K number and/or put their SSN on file. Once the student has done so, the student can go to building 22 Information Technology Help Desk or call the Help Desk for their user name and password.
